ROWING – MEDALS AND MORE!

Our CCRC/Lawhill Rowing programme continues to go from strength to strength.  Highlights in the first half of 2025 include:

  • Lawhill student participation in the Freedom Paddle on Freedom Day, 27 April 2025. The paddle brought together participants from across the country to commemorate the nation’s journey to democracy, with Kgusto, Chinedu, and Obvious proudly taking part in this meaningful and symbolic occasion.

  • On 17 May 2025, our students participated in the CCRC Rowing Regatta. Representing our team were Miyanda, Mpho, and Bonani, with Miyanda competing in two events. Their dedication and hard work paid off, as they secured gold, showcasing their talent and determination on the water.

  • The selection of Ziyanda, our rowing Captain, to join Arshay Cooper for the annual A Most Beautiful Thing Inclusion Fund Rowing and Leadership Camp in Vermont, USA.  Thank you to Bunker Partner for providing the funding we needed to equip Ziyanda for the trip, and to send along some spending money.   See our FACEBOOK page for more photos related to Ziyanda’s trip to the USA.  A video of Ziyanda’s trip will also be posted to social media around the end of August.
